What Are Common Railroad Conductor Injuries?

West Aron moved to Portland, OR, in 2022 while serving as an AmeriCorps Member. They then attended Lewis & Clark Law School and joined the HMN Team after graduating in 2025. Prior to law school, West worked in restaurants, retail, and manufacturing.
During law school, West focused on practical skills to bring their clients the best representation possible. This included participation in experiential learning opportunities such as legal clinics and trial competitions. West and their team earned first place for contract drafting at the 2025 Wayne State Taft Transactional Law Invitational. West also interned for the Metropolitan Public Defender: Community Law and the Small Business Legal Clinic in Portland. During their final year of law school, they served as a Certified Law Student representing indigent clients in Washington County with the Metropolitan Public Defender and worked at a Workers’ Compensation firm that represented injured workers.
West’s experiences prior to their law career motivate their drive to protect injured workers. Workers are often directed by employers to perform their duties in unsafe environments or using unsafe methods. West witnessed this personally while working on the line in the manufacturing industry. Now, it is the focus of West’s career to hold employers accountable when they place a worker in a position that risks that worker’s paycheck at the cost of the worker’s safety.
Outside the courtroom, West enjoys traveling, pickleball, and board games.
