Recently, Attorneys Victor A. Russo and Gabriel A. Siniscal, of Hildebrand McLeod & Nelson LLP, won a verdict of $4,946,653 to compensate their client, Union Pacific Conductor Mario Orlando, in a FELA case.
On March 1, 2020, Mr. Orlando was riding the side steps of a locomotive being shoved when it struck a fixed-derail a carman had negligently left engaged after taking down blue flag protection. As a result, Mr. Orlando was thrown from the moving locomotive and suffered an ankle fracture and serious tendon tears. Later on, Mr. Orlando received four surgeries and was rendered permanently disabled from his conductor job.
